A newly planted bare root espaliered apple tree. Can be trained for small or narrow spaces.
Apple Trees Standard tree types - the traditional way of growing many fruit trees, usually grown on a semi-dwarf root stock to prevent the tree from becoming too large and making pruning and harvesting easier. Combination tree types: "Combo" trees feature several varieties grafted onto a single trunk. All our combo trees have a pollinizing variety grafted onto the tree so all varieties can produce fruit. We usually have 4 and 5 way combos. Espaliered combination and single variety trees: A very nice way to grow a fully producing tree in a restricted space. Many commercial growers have found that they can get more fruit in a smaller amount of space using this technique. Works well against a fence or wall but can be free standing as well. Quite decorative in its look with many variations available in pruning/training methods. Easier to prune than a traditional standard tree.
